New Products 6-14-10

There's plenty new to see at Pieceful Pastime!  Not only did I bring back some goodies from Spring Market in Minneapolis, but the Holiday prints are starting to arrive as well!  Here are the highlights:

New Gadget: The Binding Tool by TQM Products.  This is for all those of you who struggle with that getting that last seam in the binding without a twist or a little pleat.  This handy acrylic gadget has the directions printed right on it so that you don't have to look all over and you can get that quilt finished!

Patterns:   Well, of course I found great new patterns, but I particularly want to mention those from Don't Look Now! in Melbourne, Australia.  There was always a crowd around this booth, and when you see the patterns, you'll know why!  The patterns are for raw edge appliqué, and they are simply enchanting! Not only do you get a great pattern, but the designer includes very specific directions for a successful project.

Fabric:   The holiday fabrics are arriving almost daily, so don't wait ‘til fall when it will be too late!  As always, we have several Halloween fabrics. 

We have the cutest prints called Jeepers Creepers from Blank Textiles, and they glow in the dark!  Imagine making a pillowcase for your kids or grandkids, and when you turn off the light, the eyeballs or little dancing skeletons in tennis shoes glow! This will make them want to go to bed!  You could also make their Halloween goodie bags out of this fabric! Susan made up a cute kid-sized quilt and we will have kits available.

Seen on Halloween is Maywood's Halloween entry.  These spiders, cats, and cobwebs come in bright lime, orange, and black and will brighten anyone's holiday.

Marcus Fabrics presents Wickedly Wonderful which you have been seeing in many of the national magazines.  Witches, bats, and cats combine for great design that is well-sized for tablerunners and other holiday decorating.

Christmas fabric is starting to appear also, and we already have some kits available.  Once again, I know it is early in the season, but if you don't want it to get away, get in and get it now!

Adoring is Moda's Christmas line from Sandy Gervais.  The panel shows three young wise men bearing gifts.  We have kits available for this adorable wall hanging.

Woodland Holidays is from Sentimental Studios by Moda and contains cardinals and fir boughs.  We have a kit for a wonderful bed or table runner available.

BasicGrey has a wonderful line called Fruitcake that consists of an almost pastel version of red and green. It will remind you of the fabrics used in blended quilts, yet there are also wonderful snowmen and ornaments.

Flourish 2 & 3 by Robert Kaufman fabrics is bea-u-ti-FUL!  This elegant line has a touch of gold metallic to really make it stand out.  We sold out of Flourish early last year, so if you want any of this, I suggest you don't wait too long.!

No holiday, but certainly fun!  Loralie's Nurse Central has arrived.  With her usual whimsy, she has captured the nursing profession.  Use this fabric to make totes, aprons, or scrubs for your favorite nurse!

    Quiltmaker's Quilting Motifs CDs are here!  Put them in your computer and adjust the sizes exactly to your quilt and then print out.  Each of the three different CD's contains hundred of designs, making these a real bargain! An invaluable resource for those who like to quilt their own quilts.
