Greetings, quilters!

Fall is fast approaching and the weather is getting cooler and man, does that make me feel like quilting!  Fortunately, we have lots of new fabrics and patterns to get you fired up and at ‘em!  Whether you are creating for yourself or beginning on those much-appreciated Christmas gifts, I'm sure we have some fabrics you will love!

 

Just Smile

If it's Fall, it must be time for the annual Pieceful Pastime Halloween Party !  Sure enough, it is on our calendar for Saturday, October 23 beginning at 9:30 a.m.  Susan will be referee-ing the project in back.  This year's project is a pumpkin wall hanging called Just Smile and it is designed by Bloomin' Minds.  While you are making your project, feast on Susan's outrageous Halloween goodies.  This year's lunch menu will include wormy chicken with maggots, finger sandwiches, bone slices, veggies with dumpster dip, blood-soaked cupcakes, witches brew, and assorted tasty snacks! Cost for the class and lunch is $10 .  Cost for the kit is $12.00, and quantities are limited. (We may have a few extra kits available for purchase!)  For everyone, if you come into the store in costume October 23, you will receive a 10% discount on your purchases.

Please call ahead if you are attending the class so that we have enough chairs and table space allocated!

 

A reminder that the Shop Hop Gift Certificates expire September 30, so if you were one of the lucky winners, get down here and get that certificate used up before it becomes worthless!

Saturday, October 30 is a Fifth Saturday (Old Bag Day). Bring your current Shop Hop bag and receive a 20% discount on your purchases.  Our exclusions are special orders, BAM, and already-reduced merchandise.

McKenna's Monkeys are getting ready to wrap up their first stint in the QFL (Quilters Football League).  Their final meeting of the year will be held Monday, November 1 at 6:00 p.m. At that meeting, the two persons who have garnered the most points and second most points will receive the prize of 50 fat quarters and 26 fat quarters, respectively.  Then there will be a random drawing from the membership for two prizes of 12 fat quarters each!  If you are not a member this year, consider becoming one next year.  We will start again at the end of March, so let us know now if you want to join in the fun and savings!

The new Class List is, unbelievably, ready and waiting for your attention on this website! Check out our offerings, but also please check us out on Facebook!   I am in the process of creating a Facebook page for the shop.  That will allow me to update info faster.  In fact, we have already added two classes since I shipped the website page, so check out the Facebook page to see what they are!

The Country Piecemakers Quilt Guild will be tying charity quilts at the shop, and everyone (member or non-member) is invited to join the fun. Dates are Wednesday, October 6, 9:30; Wednesday, October 20, 9:30; Wednesday, November 3, 9:30; and Saturday, November 20, 9:30. 

When Susan wraps up this year's little-quilt-a-month classes, she is going to take a break from the small monthly projects.  Instead, we will be having a UFO day once a month where you can bring your unfinished projects and, hopefully, finish them!  You will have one of us in the classroom with you to offer suggestions or give guidance.  It's a chance to get together with friends and have a laugh AND get something accomplished!  Our first UFO gathering will be Saturday, December 4, beginning at 9:30 a.m.  Come down and get those last-minute Christmas projects completed! Cost will be $5, and that will include your noon meal.  Ya can't beat that with a stick!

While I am thinking of little quilts, it is time for us to clear out the kits from the Motif book! We still have kits available for many of the months, so we will clearance price them at $7 per kit.  However, if you purchase 3 or more kits at one time, we will price them at $6 per kit!  Think Christmas here, girls!  Where else could you get such a good gift for such a small price!  Supplies are limited, and when they are gone, they are GONE!
